Now in its 16th season, the BNL Karting Series makes an emphatic return to racing, having crowned its champions early last October, as they will be going full-throttle this coming weekend at the “Home of Champions,” Karting Genk for the annual Kick-Off.
170 drivers will take to the asphalt at the world-famous Limburg circuit, which measures 1,360 meters in length with 12 corners that will provide some spectacular racing. This championship, which started back in 2008, has seen the likes of two-time F1 World Champion Max Verstappen, Indycar star Rinus Veekay, Beitske Visser, Oliver Askew, and Thomas Preining grace their ranks over previous years.
But now in 2023, there is a whole host of talent right across the age spectrum, from the young superstars of the future looking to make their marks, along with those continuing to show their love for karting. It brings a wonderful atmosphere and great racing action over the course of the race meeting, where five classes will compete for the chance to win a full season entry for the four-round calendar, which starts on the Easter weekend between April 7th & 9th.
For 2023, the Mini MAX class will also have a Rookie category as part of it, which will give the younger drivers to have the real experience of competing in bigger grids.
“We’re really excited to be going back racing after such a long wait,” stated series organiser Esmée Rosman. “As much as it’s nice to recharge over the winter, everyone is just so eager to get back out on track, and the Kick-Off is really the starting point for what we expect to be another exciting year of competition!”
The 2023 BNL Karting Series calendar will be racing in both Belgium and France, with the dates and locations as follows:
