The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine returned to action this afternoon for the penultimate race of the season at Monza, the stage for the tenth double-header round of the series organized and promoted by ACI Sport and Alpine Racing.

The Brazilian driver needed only a fourth-place finish to claim the season crown, with one round still left to race. It was a perfect race for James Wharton at the Red Bull Ring, where the Prema Racing driver, after starting from pole, managed to stay in control from the first to the last lap, securing his second victory of the season in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, achieving this result during the 75th race in the history of the series. Applause also went to Evan Giltaire, who, driving one of ART Grand Prix’s cars, staged a sensational comeback, rising from twelfth to second place after challenging Wharton in the final corners.

A highly competitive and intense second test session unfolded today at the Red Bull Ring, the stage for the eighth round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. The drivers on track this afternoon found a circuit that progressively dried out after the heavy rain that fell yesterday and earlier this morning.

Friday’s action in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine once again began under rain, though the conditions were lighter compared to yesterday. However, the drivers still had to take to the track on wet surfaces.

Rodin Motorsport has confirmed that British racer Freddie Slater will join the team for the penultimate round of the GB3 Championship at Donington Park this weekend (7/8 September).

Elite Motorsport’s McKenzy Cresswell and Rodin Motorsport’s Arthur Rogeon claimed victories on Sunday at Silverstone, as the championship fight tightened up further.

Louis Sharp went from fifth on the grid to victory in race two this morning, before his teammate Arthur Rogeon claimed a maiden win in the reverse grid finale.
