Joseph Turney wins the 25th edition of the Winter Cup ahead of Lorenzo Travisanutto

Tony Kart Racing Team came back successful from the 25th Winter Cup thanks to the wonderful victory conquered by Joseph Turney in the OK category, reached the first step of the podium of the prestigious event taking place at the South Garda Karting together with Lorenzo Travisanutto, closing second. Both Tony Kart drivers were leading most of the race at the wheel of their Tony Kart Racer 401 R chassis powered by Vortex. The current World Champion remained on top position in the first laps after conquering the Pole Position thanks to two victories in the Qualifying Heats. Joseph, instead, 8 laps to go, took the lead completing an incredible comeback from the eleventh position of the grid. The Englishman recoverd the unlucky withdrawal during the heats with two victories, a second place and the victory in the Super Heat 2.

Pedro Hiltbrand was once again the author of an excellent performance, damaged by a penalty at the end of the race, depriving him from a 5th position and a 13-position comeback. The Spaniard at the end was ninth, after a victory and excellent positions however vanished by a contact in the Super Heat. Good weekend also for Diego Contecha, who improved his starting position in the decisive race after running a wonderful qualifying and finishing in top ten twice. In KZ2, Simo Puhakka started his weekend in the best way conquering a Pole position followed by two victories and two second places obtained during Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, during the Super Heat, a bit of bad luck compromises a top-level weekend. In final the Finn finished sixth. Paul Evrard manages to improve his starting position and closed a fantastic debut weekend with the Tony Kart Racing Team, staying in top ten in all the Heats. Alessio Piccini proved to be once again among the most fighting drivers of the group recovering 23 positions in the Qualifying Heats.

Karol Pasiewicz ended the final of the OKJ category in second position, relying on his Tony Kart during the most difficult stages of the race. Technical checks in the parc fermé however assigned several penalties, vanishing the excellent result of the Pole and withdrew our Harley Keeble and Aiden Neate, standing out throughout the whole weekend. Bruno Del Pino, at his début under our tent, closed just outside the top ten after gaining 4 places in the first ten positions during the Heats and the Super Heats. Maxim Rehm, unluckily, was forced to withdraw again and he was deprived from putting his progress to good use. Forced absence, instead, for Eron Rexhepi, due to injury. The Tony Kart Racing Team did not stop and is now preparing to the forthcoming appointment with the 2nd round of the WSK Super Master Series scheduled this weekend. Stage of the race will still be the South Garda karting in Lonato (Italy) where drivers of the KZ2, OK, OKJ and MINI categories will get on track.
