Oliver Goethe joins Trident Motorsport for 2023 FIA Formula 3 campaign

ROFGO Junior Oliver Goethe has secured a seat at the 2021 FIA F3 Champion team Trident Motorsport for his first full season in one of the most competitive junior single-seater series in the world. 18-year-old Oliver wrapped up his most successful season to date by winning the 2022 Euroformula Open Championship with 11 victories and 18 podiums to his name.

The Danish-German rising star made his FIA F3 debut this year, making two appearances at the Hungaroring and at Spa - Francorchamps with great success. In Budapest, he took reverse grid pole position, then in Belgium he set the fourth fastest time in the Qualifying and was battling for the win, even leading the Feature Race at one point before crossing the line in P4, beating many of the more experienced full-time drivers.

For 2023, Goethe will run a full campaign in the championship, which is the third rung of the Road to F1 ladder, running on Formula 1 race weekends.
Oliver impressed with his first experience of Trident Racing as he took part in the official FIA F3 post-season test in Jerez with the Italian team and set the second-fastest time overall at the end of the third day as the top rookie.

The 2023 FIA Formula 3 season will comprise a total of ten rounds across three continents, including Melbourne, Australia, and Oliver’s home race in Monte Carlo, Monaco, with the first race taking place on 4-5 March in Bahrain.

Oliver Goethe:
“I am delighted to join Trident for my first full season in FIA F3. I drove with the Team in Jerez, and it was a great experience. They are very professional and have achieved some great success in this championship. I know we are capable of some good results together, and I can’t wait to get the season started. Huge thanks to my sponsors and partners for their support so far and for being by my side as I am taking an important step in my career. Thanks to ROFGO, Gulf Oil International, Tag Heuer, Venture Engineering, Pit Stop Monte Carlo, Bullet Sport Management, and of course my parents and my coach Stuart for all the help."

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager, Trident Motorsport
“Oliver Goethe is without a doubt a promising young driver. We are extremely proud to have him in our line-up for 2023 in FIA Formula 3 Championship and we look forward to a new season together. We were impressed by his debut in the category last season and by the excellent work done by the driver’s technical staff during the post season test in Jerez last September. We welcome the new member of the Trident Motorsport Family with the certainty that we will build the right alchemy to reach important goals together.”

Jamie Campbell-Walter, Managing Director, Bullet Sports Management:"
Oliver completed a remarkable 2022 season. Besides his dominant performance in Euroformula Open, winning his maiden title, he also made his mark in FIA F3 during his guest appearances, proving he is ready to take the next step and why he deserves a Trident seat. We are delighted with his progress and will continue to support him in moving up the single-seater ladder. Trident is a highly successful team and from what we have seen in the post-season test in Jerez, Ollie already feels comfortable in his new setting. The 2023 season can't start soon enough!”

Stuart Hall, Motorsports Director, ROFGO Racing:
"Ollie has had an outstanding 2022, the fact that a Team such as Trident has signed him for 2023 is testimony to that. We are under no illusions about the challenge we face in FIA F3, it’s arguably the toughest Junior championship in the world.  That said, we will relish the challenge, the first round in Bahrain can’t come quick enough."
