Pole position in the dry, victory in the rain... the Sodi chassis proved competitive in all conditions on the demanding Lonato track. Winner of the Final, Senna Van Walstijn took the lead of the WSK Super Master Series in the KZ2 category. It was also a great overall performance by Sodikart and the CPB Sport team in Italy, with a total of six chassis in the top 12, including four in the top six!
The 2025 international season began with a podium finish for Sodikart and CPB Sport, and it continues with a success and a magnificent group result obtained during the third of the five events counting for the WSK Super Master Series. From practice to the Final, French chassis were constantly at the front in KZ2, demonstrating both the potential of the equipment and the work of the technical staff. Senna Van Walstijn gave his team a third consecutive pole position, after those obtained by the Dutchman at La Conca and then by Maksim Orlov at Sarno. After that, nobody could beat his time of 45"312.
Van Walstijn confirmed his level of performance in the heats, while Kasper Schormans, Jean Nomblot, Maksim Orlov and Mattéo Spirgel posted a string of top-five finishes with their Sodi chassis equipped with slicks. On Sunday, rain didn't stop the French brand from winning again, with Jean Nomblot taking victory in Prefinal B. Senna Van Walstijn won the Final, which was a tough and competitive affair.
A brilliant 3rd at the chequered flag, Jean Nomblot dropped back a place due to a loose spoiler, while Mattéo Spirgel and Max Orlov were just behind in 5th and 6th positions. CPB Sport also had the satisfaction of counting several other drivers in the top 20 with Dion Van Werven 10th, Kasper Schormans 12th, Erik Holm 15th and Jayden Thien 19th.
In the overall standings, Van Walstijn is the new series leader. Nomblot is also in 3rd place ahead of Orlov, followed by Spirgel in 7th.
Comments from team manager Paul Bizalion
“The chemistry between Senna Van Walstijn and his team worked wonders again at Lonato, both in the dry and in the rain. Our objective now will be to go for the title in this WSK Super Master Series. I would especially like to point out the remarkable success rate of the Sodi chassis and the CPB Sport team in a KZ2 category with 65 entrants. We placed eight drivers in the Final, including four in the top six: this is undeniable proof of our competitiveness! Sodikart has made an impressive start to the season and we're obviously going to keep up the momentum. The next event will take place at Franciacorta, on the circuit that will host the World Championship. The number of entries is likely to be even higher, but Sodikart is ready to take up this new challenge.”
