Ugo Ugochukwu joins Rodin Motorsport’s GB3 line-up for partial 2024 season

Rodin Motorsport has confirmed that McLaren Driver Development Programme member Ugo Ugochukwu will join the team for a partial campaign in the 2024 GB3 Championship.

The American driver began his karting career in his homeland, winning the Micro ROK Cup USA Championship when he was only seven years old. Following that early success, he continued racking up numerous karting accolades in the USA, including the Micro Max Florida Winter Tour, the Micro Max Pan American Challenge and the Junior ROK Challenge of the Americas. In 2018 he started racing in Europe where he won the Mini X30 IAME All-Stars Finals and the 2020 FIA European OK Junior Championship.

He stepped up to single-seaters in British Formula 4 at the start of 2022, finishing third overall and winning the Rookie Trophy.

In 2023, Ugochukwu became Italian Formula 4 Vice Champion and Euro 4 Champion, ending his two year Formula 4 career with 11 wins and 44 podiums.

He becomes the third driver announced for Rodin Motorsport’s GB3 team, alongside Louis Sharp and Arthur Rogeon, completing the squad's line-up as they chase further title glory.

It is expected that Ugochukwu will compete at four GB3 events, including the Oulton Park season opener at the end of March, April’s Silverstone visit, the trip to Spa in June and the second Silverstone rounds in July.

Ugo Ugochukwu said: “I’m very pleased to be racing in the GB3 Championship with a team as prestigious as Rodin Motorsport. I am honoured that with the continued support of the McLaren Driver Development Programme I have been given the opportunity to race in such a great championship in the United Kingdom.”

Rodin Motorsport GB3 Team Manager Ricky Taylor said: “We are excited to have Ugo on board for the upcoming season. His skills and achievements speak for themselves, and we believe he will be a valuable asset to our team. I look forward to him getting behind the wheel alongside Louis and Arthur and for racing to begin.”
