Tony Kart, pole and podium in Cremona

On the occasion of the fourth round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series, the Racer 401 RR sets the fastest time in the qualifying heats of the OK category, with Luigi Coluccio. Their kart also hits the podium in the final, still in the Senior category

Convincing performances for the Tony Kart Racing Team in Cremona (Italy), hosting the fourth round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series 2023, in view of the final round of the FIA Karting European Championship. On track, as usual, the Tony Kart Racer 401 RR chassis equipped with VTS (OK) and VTJ (OKJ) engines by Vortex, the "engine division" of OTK Kart Group.

In OK, Luigi Coluccio is among the main protagonists of the penultimate round of the championship. The Italian driver opens the weekend with a pole position in the qualifying heats, thanks to the best time of 47.533 recorded in the second qualifying group, and continues with a perfect series of five victories out of five heats. After finishing second in the Sunday morning's super heat, Coluccio in the final jumps from the first position and immediately starts his battles with his rivals. At the end of the 25 scheduled laps, their driver finishes the race at the foot of the podium, behind another Tony Kart Racer 401 RR. The positive performance of their technical package is confirmed by Sebastiano Pavan: author of two victories and three podiums during the qualifying heats, as well as of a third place in the Super Heat A, the Italian secures the third position on the starting grid of the final and finishes the race behind his teammate Coluccio.

Debut with their official colours for Aleksandar Bogunovic, who immediately shows off with the best time in the Saturday morning's warm-up and a third place as best result in the qualifying heat. However, the Slovenian driver is unintentionally involved in an accident in the first few corners of the final and unfortunately has to raise the white flag. Jan Przyrowski also performs a solid run in the eliminatory heats - including a fourth place - and reaches the final, but the Polish driver too is forced to stop due to a collision after a few laps. Zoe Florescu Potolea, on the other hand, closes the Italian round with a comeback of not less than 13 positions in the A Super Heat.

In OKJ, Scott Kin Lindblom is their best representative. The Swedish driver collects a second place in the qualifying heats and comes close to the Top 5 in the A Super Heat, however he is unlucky in the Sunday afternoon's final: in fact, after a few corners, he soon has to stop his run, because of an accident in which his teammates Kirill Dzitiev and Alp Hasan Aksoy are also involved.

Davide Bottaro, author of a third place as his best result in the eliminatory heats, takes charge of the situation and climbs a total of 12 positions; this way, the Italian hits the final Top 15. A good performance also for Maria Germano Neto: the Portuguese driver achieves a fourth place in Qualifying E-F Heat and a seventh place in the A Super Heat, but retires on the warm-up lap of the final.

The Tony Kart Racing Team will be still on track in two weeks, in view of the 4th and final round of the FIA Karting European Championship in Cremona (July 27th – 30th), reserved to OK and OKJ categories.
