The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine revved up its engines this morning at Hockenheim, the venue for the season’s final event, for the first test of the day.
In wet conditions that challenged everyone, local driver Tim Tramnitz (R-ace GP) emerged as the fastest, clocking an impressive 1m51.728s on the stopwatch. Right behind him was the newly crowned series champion, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, driving for Prema Racing in car number 12, who came within a mere 12 milliseconds of the top spot. The third-best time was achieved by another driver from the Italian team, Rafael Camara, who, in turn, outpaced Joshua Durksen (Arden Motorsport).
The top 5 was rounded out by the Dutchman Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing), building on his positive momentum from Zandvoort, where he secured his second win of the season. Also performing well in the first timed session was Victor Bernier (MP Motorsport), who claimed the sixth position ahead of Martinius Stenshorne (R-ace GP), the reigning Rookie champion from last weekend in the Netherlands. Rounding out the top ten were Maceo Capietto (RPM), Nikita Bedrin, sporting the colors of Van Amersfoort Racing this weekend, and Tom Lebbon (Arden Motorsport).
