Tim Tramnitz takes the lead in rainy first Hockenheim collective test

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine roared back into action this morning at Hockenheim, where the series organized by ACI Sport and Alpine Racing saw its drivers tackle a wet track.

In the first collective test of the day, local driver Tim Tramnitz once again displayed his mastery of the twists and turns of the German circuit, posting the best time of 1m51.623s and leading for a significant portion of the session. Representing the R-ace GP team, Tramnitz, who had been the fastest in the first and third pre-collective tests yesterday, outpaced the Frenchman Sami Meguetounif (MP Motorsport) by just over five-tenths of a second. The reigning series champion, Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Prema Racing), again found himself near the top of the timesheets, stopping the clock with the third-best time ahead of Martinius Stenshorne (R-ace GP), who arrived in Germany with the Rookie title in his pocket.

Another rookie, Alessandro Giusti (G4 Racing), also put in a strong performance, finishing in fifth place at the end of the session, ahead of Maceo Capietto (RPM) in sixth. Completing the top 10 were Joshua Durksen (Arden Motorsport), Victor Bernier (MP Motorsport), his teammate Javier Sagrera, and Esteban Masson (Sainteloc Racing).

The collective test was marked by several red flags, with the final one occurring approximately two minutes from the end, bringing the session to a close. The drivers of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will return to the track this afternoon at 13:10 for the second collective test.
