The CRG Racing Team in Genk to prepare the OK – OKJ European Championship

This weekend the OK and OK-Junior classes will race in Genk, Belgium, where it is scheduled the first round of the Champions of the Future Series. This appointment has an important value for these 2 direct drive categories in relation to the European Championship, as it is exactly here where they will both compete again in the 1st round of the continental Championship on the 16th of May.

This will also be the first race weekend in which the technical staff and the drivers will use MG tires (Option for Junior and Prime for OK), which have been made official by the FIA as the tires to be used in all international events, on Wednesday.

The CRG Racing Team will have 6 drivers on the track, 4 in the OK category and 2 in the Junior one. The French Arthur Rogeon, the Finnish Rasmus Joutsimies, the Spanish Rubén Moya and the Russian Ksenia Phoenix will be lined up in OK. The OK-Junior team will be made by the Italian Simone Bianco and the Spanish Adrián Ferrer. Unfortunately, due to health problems, the Polish Maksymilian Obst, who will regularly be at the start of the European Championship, had to forfeit.

The race program includes free practice on Thursday, while qualifying and the first heats are scheduled for Friday. The heats will continue on Saturday.

Everyone’s goal will be to enter the 36 finalists who will fight for the podium in this international meeting on Sunday. For the team, this is a very important test, because the comparison on the track will be with the same teams and drivers who will also liven up the European Championship. Technicians and drivers will focus to complete a very intense work program in relation to the race and in this context the weather could also be a random variable, considering the possibility of rain, which is expected for Thursday.
