England will be the center of world karting for 15 days, hosting the Champions of the Future on the PF International circuit located north of Nottingham from 5 to 8 September and the following week the FIA World Championship for the OK and OK-Junior categories. This week's race will be a trial run to define the setup and best prepare for the most important one of the year. This weekend the CRG Racing Team will be taking part in the Champions of the Future with 15 drivers divided into the two categories.
The most important objective will be to complete the work done in the August tests and be ready for the World Championship. It will therefore be an anomalous race that we are preparing to experience, halfway between a great test and a competition that will see the Final for the top 36 on the track on Sunday afternoon. The priority will certainly be to make the best use of this opportunity from a technical point of view and also to be able to handle any weather changes that are common in England.
The first news from CRG is not very positive, in fact, Gabriel Gomez, top driver in the OK category, will not be able to take part in the event, due to a coincidence with his F4 program and, again due to a concomitant commitment with the cars, Louis Iglesias won't be competing either. In particular, the Brazilian driver had a great chance of playing the leading role in these two events, but CRG's OK team will in any case have excellent drivers capable of playing a leading role in the "top class", starting with Gomez's fellow-compatriot, the new winner of the South American FIA title Olin Galli who, last year, was among the great protagonists of the World Championship in Italy last year. Mark Dubnitski was also among the fastest in OK last year, winning the Pole Position and also this year he will be competing with great ambitions, like those of Davide Bottaro who, after many top ten races, is looking for his best result in the most important one of the year.
Overall, CRG will line up 8 drivers in the OK category and 7 in the OK-Junior one, where the Panamanian driver Marcelo Tortato and Kian Burnard will make their debut with the official team. Asher Ochstein and Manu Miguezare also expected to have a place among the big names, both very fast in the August testing sessions and in the last round of the European Championship.
This weekend's Champions of The Future will respect the format of the International meetings with Qualifying Practices on Friday, Saturday completely dedicated to the Heats and Sunday's appointments with the Super Heats in the morning and the Finals in the afternoon.
