The 2025 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) calendar has officially been unveiled, promising another thrilling season across Europe’s premier racing circuits. With ten rounds scheduled on iconic tracks, the upcoming season marks a combination of familiar favorites and exciting new additions, making it a must-watch for motorsport fans.
The season will kick off with the first official tests in Barcelona on the 8th and 9th of April, followed by a second test at the Misano World Circuit on April 17th and 18th, and concluding at Paul Ricard on April 22nd and 23rd. These test sessions will give teams a vital opportunity to prepare before the racing action starts in earnest.
The first race of the season will debut at a brand-new venue for FRECA—Misano, from May 2nd to 4th, as part of the ACI Racing Weekend. Following that, the championship moves to the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit from May 16th to 18th, coinciding with the GT Open weekend, a favorite among fans for its picturesque setting and challenging layout.
Zandvoort will host Round 3, with dates to be confirmed. The Dutch track, known for its fast and technical nature, will see the FRECA cars share the stage with the DTM series. The next stop is the Hungaroring on July 4th to 6th, as part of the GT Open weekend, a familiar venue where drivers will navigate the tight and twisty corners of the Hungarian Grand Prix circuit.
Round 5 takes the drivers back to Paul Ricard, from July 18th to 20th, before heading to Imola for Round 6 on August 1st to 3rd. Both of these circuits will provide a mix of fast straights and technical sections, challenging even the most skilled drivers.
After a brief summer break, the championship will return to the Red Bull Ring from September 5th to 7th, joining the GT Open series. The high-speed straights and elevation changes of Austria’s famed circuit are sure to deliver exhilarating wheel-to-wheel battles. Following Austria, the championship will visit Barcelona from September 19th to 21st.
As the season approaches its finale, the penultimate round will take place at Hockenheim, with the date to be confirmed. This classic German track will feature alongside DTM, adding further excitement to the championship’s final stretch. The grand finale is set to unfold at Monza from October 24th to 26th, during the ACI Racing Weekend, in what promises to be a spectacular conclusion at the temple of speed.
This calendar reflects the championship’s ongoing commitment to providing top-tier racing across the continent’s most prestigious circuits. With ACI Sport and Alpine Racing continuing their collaboration, the 2025 season is set to uphold FRECA’s position as the official stepping stone from F4 to F3 in the FIA’s Global Pathway. Drivers competing in the series will also have the opportunity to earn up to 25 FIA Super Licence points, reinforcing its importance in the development of future Formula 1 stars.
