With one heat race for most classes yesterday, all classes saw race action today, and the results set the grid for tomorrow’s prefinals. After some rain on Tuesday, Micro MAX, Mini MAX, and MAX DD2 Masters qualified in wet conditions, but the remainder of the classes qualified today under sunny and clear skies.

The day started under cool and calm conditions at the Circuito Internazionale di Napoli in Sarno, Italy, but the track action heated up throughout the day, concluding with three Qualifying Practice sessions. Setting the grids in Micro MAX, Mini MAX, and MAX DD2 Masters, the remaining classes will qualify tomorrow, with wheel-to-wheel action to follow. Of note, Non-Qualifying Practice 6 for Junior MAX Even, Senior MAX Odd and Even, MAX DD2 Odd and Even were cancelled today due to heavy rain, as those classes still have Non-Qualifying Practice 7 tomorrow morning.

The South America Trophy race event in Chile delivered five days of non-stop karting action, drawing in 175 skilled drivers from eight different countries to the Las Perdices kart track in Melipilla. The competition was fierce, with racers pushing their limits on the challenging 1,700-meter circuit, which is fully FIA-approved and designed for high-speed excitement.

This year’s edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Festival took the annual BRP-Rotax event for Micro MAX and Mini MAX drivers across the English Channel for the first time on the weekend of September 20-22 for some intensely fought competition. The Warden Law Kart Club at Karting North East in the United Kingdom played host to the special event organised by Motorsport UK for the Rotax youngsters.

The official chassis partners for the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals 2024 have now been confirmed, as BRP-Rotax announces the manufacturers who will support all the qualified competitors with their brand new karts at the annual flagship event.

A combined South African Rotax Max National season opener and the annual winner-takes-all wildcard African Open delivered epic karting at Cape Town’s Killarney Kart Track over the weekend. With over 125 entries including a strong continental contingent from as far afield as Mozambique and Namibia, the twisty Killarney dished up a whole lot of great racing on a cloudy Cape autumn’s weekend.

Rotax Karting is all set for the all-important opening round of the RMC South African Kart Championships, and wildcard RMC African Open at Killarney in Cape Town on Saturday 23 March. With karters converging on the Cape from all corners of the country and the African continent, plus incredible action in the regional Rotax races so far, it can only be a case of excellent racing over the weekend.
