It was a race full of twists and action in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, which this afternoon concluded the Paul Ricard round under the rain. Alessandro Giusti (ART Grand Prix) was a prophet in his own land, starting from the fifth position on the grid and, with an excellent race pace, secured an important victory.

The official session at Paul Ricard for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine was anything but straightforward, taking place first in the wet and then in the dry. Leading the pack once again was championship leader Rafael Camara (Prema Racing), who clocked the fastest time in Group A with a 1:59.245. This marks the Brazilian’s eighth pole position in the series since last year, cementing the Ferrari Driver Academy driver as one of the fastest in qualifying.

Crossing the finish line first was championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli of Prema Racing, who showcased his prowess with two impressive overtakes. Antonelli passed his pole-sitting teammate Rafael Camara at the Roggia chicane and later surged past Marcus Amand (ART Grand Prix) while he was leading the race, during the initial stages. However, Antonelli received a 10-second penalty for an early use of the push-to-pass system, dropping him out of the points zone.

The second qualifying session of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine brought the challenge to the track Sunday morning at the Red Bull Ring. The drivers entered the track in two groups, in reverse order compared to Saturday’s qualifying. The pole position for Race 2 was claimed by French driver Alessandro Giusti from G4 Racing. This marks Giusti’s second pole in the series, following his first victory at Paul Ricard before the summer break. Yesterday was already a favorable day for the driver, as he topped his group and finished Race 1 on the podium. With an excellent performance in qualifying, the Frenchman has created a perfect opportunity to add to his victories in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.
