Joel Bergstrom's 13-place recovery in the OK Final and Ean Eyckmans' overall performance in this category were the main positives to come out of the final round of the FIA Karting European OK and Junior Championship at Cremona. With the temperature rising steadily, the young Belgian from the Leclerc by Lennox Racing team achieved some exciting results: 6th in Qualifying, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 3rd and 4th in the heats, 10th after the Super Heats and 10th in the Final. 

International competition continued on a new track last weekend. After Trinec in the Czech Republic, the Birel ART Racing team discovered the Rødby circuit in Denmark for the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series at the beginning of June, two weeks before the FIA Karting European Championship - OK and Junior.

Today the Kartodromo Internacional Algarve welcomed us in the morning shrouded in fog what prompted a fifteen-minute delay to the start of our on-track action. But this did not lower the spirit of our racers.

Yesterday saw the first real part of the full-throttle action that is experienced by the whole paddock, as all 394 drivers would brave the changeable weather conditions that saw the final part of Non-Qualifying Practice and the first five of eight classes go out for Qualifying.

We look back at yesterday, when the 2022 RMC Grand Finals were truly opened via the Welcome Briefing in the morning. 394 drivers received their brand new karts through the customary raffle on the main start-finish straight underneath the beautifully sunlit Portuguese skyline. Along with that, drivers would also head to the nearby Autodromo Internacional do Algarve for the mandatory briefings that afternoon, with the paddock tent being a busy hive of activity all day long as the brand-new karts would be prepared fully, with every nut and bolt tightened and fastened.

The victory of the Finals at the South Garda Karting went to Giuseppe Palomba (KZ2), Kean Nakamura-Berta (OK), Jan Przyrowski (OKJ) and Vladimir Ivannikov (MINI).

The “Andrea Margutti” Trophy continues to honour the memory of the young karting promise Andrea Margutti with the 31st edition of the event that started back in 1990. The second round of WSK Euro Series is underway at the circuit of Angerville (France) with drivers of categories OK, OK Junior and 60 Mini on track. The circuit is quite challenging and weather is mixed, drivers and engineers have therefore to challenge each other on temperatures that are not spring-like yet, despite the sun shining until the end of qualifying today.

Lap times have highlighted the speed of the first protagonists of this great International Karting event that is celebrating its 30th edition at the South Garda Karting in Lonato. The charm of edition 30 of the Andrea Margutti Trophy has had its first racing day on Friday, April 5th with 237 verified drivers out of the entered 251 coming from 40 different Countries.

The presence of WSK cameras will capture all the racing action on the closing day, Sunday, March 31st.
