Planning is underway for the 29^th running of the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix kart races, the Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 1, 2024.

Marcus Armstrong will start Saturday's 85-lap race from the inside of the fourth row, marking his highest starting spot in his INDYCAR career to date. Armstrong piloted the No. 11 IU Simon Cancer Center Honda in its on-track debut today, where he secured a team-best P7 qualifying result with a fastest lap time of 1:10.2106. The rookie missed out on advancing to what would have been the first Firestone Fast 6 appearance of his INDYCAR career by just 0.0008 seconds.
