On Friday 11th October, the KZ categories battled it out on the wet track of the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve for Qualifying Practice. Dutchman Senna Van Walstijn took pole position in the Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship - KZ, Italian Cristian Bertuca took pole position in the FIA Karting World Cup - KZ2 and Brazilian Andre Nicastro set the fastest time in the FIA Karting International Super Cup - Masters.

The new Champions of the Future Shifters, which has just taken place in Portimao, featured Birel ART drivers in all three categories. Daniel Vasile took victory in KZ2, while Artem Severiukhin was on the podium, Pedro Hiltbrand secured 3rd place in KZ and Davide Foré 4th in KZ2 Master. Two weeks before the World Championship, Lissone's products are showing excellent competitiveness.

For four days, the Algarve International Karting Circuit in Portimao vibrated to the rhythm of the KZ, KZ2 and KZ Master karts at a meeting eagerly awaited by competitors. The drivers and teams were able to work in a variety of weather conditions, gathering a wealth of data and gaining a much better understanding of the Portimao track. Many of the drivers were taking part in a Champions of the Future event for the first time and appreciated the professionalism of the organisation put in place by RGMMC. On a warm and sunny day of southern Portugal, Frenchman Jérémy Iglesias won the KZ class, Romanian Daniel Vasile won the KZ2 class and Frenchman Anthony Abbasse dominated the KZ Master class.
