The Italian round of the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2 in Sarno, Italy, sponsored by Mondokart.com, took place in very hot conditions that put a great deal of stress on drivers, machines and tyres. The first selection has been made and will be completed on Sunday morning during the Super Heats. On Saturday evening, the Qualifying Heats delivered their verdict with Danilo Albanese (ITA) still leading in KZ and Cristian Bertuca (ITA) the new leader in KZ2.

Simone Cunati dominated the Final of the KZ2 International Super Cup masterfully, while Giuseppe Palomba ensured a double despite starting in 7th position. 2019 World Champion and reigning European KZ Champion Marijn Kremers, his Ricciardo Kart colours and TM engine were just 4 tenths from a new title. They clinched the Vice-World Championship after a difficult but perfectly managed event by Birel ART.

Impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 will bring the Lonato venue back to the forefront of international competition for the second time in a row. After the withdrawal of Le Mans, the South Garda Karting circuit has been asked to host the FIA Karting World Championship - KZ, the FIA Karting International Super Cup - KZ2 and the third competition of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy from 2nd to 4th October.

Lonato was a festival for Birel ART-TM! The WSK Euro Series ended with a triumph for the Italian teams. During this rather special meeting, two events per category were held simultaneously in the space of five days. In KZ2, the first one resulted in a triple win led by Marijn Kremers (Ricciardo Kart), Riccardo Longhi and Matteo Vigano (Charles Leclerc by Lennox Racing). Alessandro Irlando won the second round and it was Longhi who won the Championship ahead of Giuseppe Palomba and Irlando!

At the second round of the European Championship at Genk, Birel ART increased its domination of the international KZ and KZ2 categories by winning two titles in one go despite very tight competition. The double win by Marijn Kremers and Alessandro Irlando in KZ was indicative of the current dynamism of Birel ART, as well as that of Viktor Gustavsson and Simone Cunati in KZ2.

In perfect weather conditions, the last day of the Genk competition offered a high quality show to the fans of close racing from all over the world. In the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ, Stan Pex won the Final in front of Marijn Kremers who took the title. In the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ2, the scenario was similar with the victory of David Trefilov and the crowning of Viktor Gustavsson. By winning the Final of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy, Connor Zilisch took a decisive option on the title.

The FIA Karting competition in Genk started this Friday afternoon, 4th September, with the Qualifying Practice for the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2 and the FIA Karting Academy Trophy. The health constraints in force in Belgium concerning the Covid-19 required the implementation of a very strict protocol, which made it hard for a significant number of drivers to reach the Genk venue. Sweden's Noah Millel and Viktor Gustavsson were the fastest in KZ and KZ2 respectively, while Belgium's Tom Braeken was the Academy pole position holder.

While the Coronavirus is still active in several regions of the world, Belgium has adopted additional health control measures to prevent further infection. These will be applied in conjunction with the FIA guidelines during the FIA Karting Competition, which will take place as planned from 3rd to 6th September at the Genk "Home of Champions" circuit.

The KZ World Champions of 2019, the Birel ART Racing Team has just started its FIA European Karting Championship campaign with a masterful victory by Alessandro Irlando. This success was completed by the third step of the podium for Riccardo Longhi and 4th place for Marijn Kremers at the wheel of his Ricciardo Kart. The Finn Simo Puhakka dominated KZ with two victories, while Jonathan Weywadt (DNK) and Connor Zilisch (USA) shared the lead in the Academy standings. The Friday, 14th August initially experienced stifling temperatures and high humidity. The approach of a storm delayed the running of the FIA Karting Competition in Adria a few minutes before the start of Qualifying Practice. The programme resumed after a one-hour break, in much cooler weather. In the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ, Irlando (ITA) took pole position, while Albanese (ITA) dominated the KZ2 category and Al Azhari (ARE) was the fastest in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.
