This year, the SWS Final will be split into two. As a sign of the times, in parallel to the "classic" SWS International Finals scheduled in Slovakia in July, Sodikart is organising the first SWS e-Sprint International Final in Sweden. On 28th and 29th April, Gothenburg will welcome the first SWS finalists at the wheel of electric karts on the two GoKart Centralen circuits.
Bertrand Pignolet, Chairman of the Sodikart Group, explains the importance of the event in the Group's strategy: "Offering an electric SWS Final meets several objectives. It is obvious that electric energy is the future of mobility from the point of view of preserving our planet. Various motorsport disciplines are in the process of taking the zero-carbon step: in the wake of Formula E in single-seaters, rallying and GT already involve electric motors.
“Sodikart has been developing electric karts for over 15 years. A forerunner in competition with the organisation in 2011 of the ERF Masters Kart in Bercy, the joint work of the R&D department and the production teams have also enabled major advances to be made in the electric leisure kart market thanks to the sense of innovation in the group's DNA. With the growing demand from the public and the tracks, Sodikart is now able to bring the best SWS electric kart drivers to Sweden for the first SWS e-Sprint International Final.”
Why Gothenburg?
Sweden's second largest city, Gothenburg is ideally located equidistant from Norway and Denmark, in the southwest of the country on the Atlantic coast. The SWS team was attracted by the quality of GoKart Centralen's ultra-modern facilities. The electric Final will be run on two circuits, a good opportunity to vary the skills and reshuffle the cards. On day 1, Friday 28th April, the participants will drive on the mixed indoor/outdoor track in Kungälv. The 650m track has 14 clockwise turns. On Day 2, Saturday 29th April, the competition will end in a different setting, the 400m long, fully indoor Göteborg city centre circuit with 10 clockwise turns, run by the same team.
International participation
No less than 64 drivers qualified during the SWS 2022 e-season from 14 nations will have the chance to participate in the inaugural event. As a partner of the competition, ITAKAshop will provide vouchers with special attention to the three Final podium drivers. In addition, the winner will be invited to a test in E20, the Rotax electric competition category.
SODI electric karts at the cutting edge of technology
The e-Sprint Final, which begins with the renowned Sodi RSXs in Kungälv, will end in Gothenburg with the brand new Sodi RSX2s featuring the latest technological and electronic advances from the Sodikart group. In both cases, these are extremely high-performance karts that meet the most demanding specifications for the pleasure of their drivers.
The first SWS e-Sprint International Final can be enjoyed on the spot and can be followed live on the website www.sodiwseries.com and on social networks on 28th and 29th April 2023.
