RPM have announced their first driver for 2023, confirming the engagement of the Irish racer Adam Fitzgerald. A renewed commitment for the team lead by Keith Donegan, facing its second season in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine after having collected two podiums and the nineth place in the 2022 team standings.
Fitzgerald has had a relatively short career within karting, having only begun racing in late 2019 in his native Ireland. He moved to competing in British competitions in 2021 such as the British Kart Championships, Little Green Man series, and the Kartmasters Grand Prix, all in the Senior X30 class.
The Irish driver’s first single-seater racing campaign was in British F4 last year for Argenti Motorsport and came 14th in the standings with a best finish of fifth. He also did two Italian F4 rounds with R-ace GP and finished eighth in his best race.
Keith Donegan – Team Principal:
“I’m very happy to welcome Adam to RPM for the 2023 season. We started to work together at the end of 2022 and he has already made huge progress. He is really focused and dedicated to get to the top. I’m looking forward to seeing his development throughout this season. So far he has showed great potential!’’
Adam Fitzgerald:
“I’m delighted to be a part of the RPM team this year, it’s always been a big goal of mine to race in this championship and now I have a great opportunity with a very good team. My preparation for the season has been going well and I can’t wait to get back on track soon for the first round in Imola.”
