RMC Winter Series: Spencer, Sejersen, Bishop, Bezel and Picot win in Cremona

A day full of emotions marked the end of the first of two rounds of the Rotax MAX Challenge Winter Series at Cremona Circuit.

There were plenty of surprises in the four finals (five categories) that took place today, with only one certainty: in Senior MAX, Macauley Bishop (DHR) put the icing on the cake of a practically perfect weekend. The other winners were Oliver Spencer (KR Sport - Mini MAX), Kristian Sejersen (RS Competition - Junior MAX), Jakub Bezel (Kraft Motorsport - DD2), and Nicolas Picot (Privateer - DD2 Masters).

Spencer, starting from the second row, executed a highly intelligent race strategy and claimed victory ahead of his fellow British drivers Alfie Mair (Privateer), who made an impressive recovery of seven positions, and Alfie Garrett (MLC Motorsport). There was disappointment for Jef Verbeke (Bouvin Power), who had enjoyed an almost flawless weekend until the Final.

The Junior MAX category delivered thrilling battles, with Sejersen emerging victorious at the wheel of the Tony Kart from RS Competition, the reigning Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy champions. Debutant Albert Friend (Strawberry Racing) finished second, while Kai Clarke (KR Sport) secured third place.

Bishop seems unstoppable! The Dan Holland Motorsport driver fought tooth and nail until the very end, taking the win ahead of Sean Butcher (KR Sport), who never stopped pushing, and Kai Hunter (Hunter Motorsport).

Jakub Bezel (Kraft Motorsport) stunned everyone in DD2; the experienced Czech driver clinched victory by just over 0.1 seconds against Austrian Leon Mandl (KSB Racing). Young Belgian Lenn Nijs (Schepers Racing) secured third place, while pole-sitter Will Elswood (Kraft Motorsport) finished just off the podium.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Picot continued his winning streak in DD2 Masters. The Frenchman, who won both the Winter Cup and the Euro Trophy in 2024, claimed victory in the first round of the Winter Series.

The incredible spectacle of the Rotax MAX Challenge Winter Series will return on the weekend of March 30 at the newly renovated Leopard Circuit in Viterbo.
