Rene Lammers to continue with MP Motorsport in Spanish F4

René Lammers will remain with MP Motorsport for a second season in the F4 Spanish Championship in 2025, where the Dutch talent will be focused on building on the experience he gained during his rookie campaign.  Having made his full single-seater debut with MP Motorsport last year, the 16-year-old from Zandvoort is the second driver to be announced in MP’s multi-car line up in the Spanish series for this season.

Lammers, who was 2023 FIA European Karting Champion, brought his strong karting pedigree to the Spanish F4 grid in 2024 with a promising debut campaign which proved to be invaluable for learning and adapting to the challenges of single-seater racing. Showing several flashes of his ultimate potential, the highlight of which was securing an overall podium at Motorland Aragon, Lammers recorded a string of strong results in a very competitive rookie championship.

With a solid foundation now in place, Lammers and MP Motorsport are ready to aim higher in 2025. At the same time, his continued presence with the team underlines MP's commitment to developing emerging talent and providing the tools they need to succeed. He will join the previously announced Belgian youngster Ean Eyckmans, who will be promoted to MP’s Spanish F4 line-up after winning the annual Richard Mille Young Talent Academy shootout.

“My first year in Spanish F4 was a huge learning experience,” said Lammers, “Single-seater racing is very different from karting, but with the support of MP Motorsport I’ve been able to grow as a driver. I’m excited to stay with the team for 2025, as we work together to take the next step and achieve stronger results. I’m ready to show what I’ve learned and continue improving.”

“We’re extremely happy to welcome René back to our Spanish F4 line-up for 2025,” said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team principal, “René’s first season gave him the opportunity to adapt to the demands of single-seater racing. He’s taken on every challenge with a professional attitude, and we’ve seen steady progress throughout the year.

"We’re confident that with a year of experience behind him, René will take a big step forward in 2025 to be one of the leading drivers in our team. Supporting young talent is at the core of MP Motorsport’s mission, and René embodies that perfectly.”

As already touched upon, Lammers graduated to Formula 4 after a highly successful karting career. In the Minis, the teenager won the WSK Euro Series, the Andrea Margutti Trophy, the Trofeo d’Estate and the Trofeo d'Autunno in 2020 while, a year later at the same level, he bagged the titles in both the WSK Super Master Series and WSK Champions Cup.

Moreover, in the X30 Juniors, he repeated his Andrea Margutti Trophy victory in his very first race at Junior level. Moving to OK Junior in 2022, Lammers finished fifth in the FIA World Championship from a P30 start while in 2023 the young Dutchman immediately advanced to OK karts, in which he became FIA European Champion, FIA Vice World Champion and FIA Rookie of the Year.
