Race-winner Tom Mills confirmed in KMR Sport’s GB4 line-up for Oulton Park

Double GB4 race-winner Tom Mills will complete KMR Sport’s three-car line-up for the Oulton Park season opener this weekend (7-10 April).

The 17-year-old made his slicks and wings debut in GB4 last year with the family-run squad, with victories at Brands Hatch and Donington Park, plus six additional podiums, helping him to fourth in the overall championship standings, while also helping KMR to take the teams’ title.

The Gloucestershire squad has purchased an additional GB4 car during pre-season, which will be piloted by Mills at the Cheshire venue, and he heads there having topped all four sessions in the newly-acquired machine at the recent Donington Park media day test.

Mills’ step up to GB4 last year came after impressing during his first year of car racing in 2021, where he took wins in the National Formula Ford Championship, and he was a front-runner at the Formula Ford Festival. He returned to Formula Ford at the end of last year, taking fourth place in the end of season Walter Hayes Trophy event at Silverstone.

The British driver completes a cosmopolitan line-up for the reigning teams’ champions at the opening round, as he partners American Jeremy Fairbairn and Australian Jack Clifford at the squad.

Tom Mills said: “It’s been a late call but I’m really excited to be back on the GB4 grid this weekend. Oulton Park was actually one of the more difficult weekends for me last year so I’m looking forward to putting that right.

“I can’t commit to a full campaign right now, but the racing in GB4 last year was some of the most fun I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait for more of that this weekend. Obviously our pace when we’ve tested the car has been really strong, so I expect to be at the sharp end of the grid once more.”

Team Principal Kevin Mills said: “It’s great to have Tom back in the car for the season opener at Oulton Park. We all know what he’s capable of and I know he’ll be looking to be on the podium during the weekend. However of more importance to the team as a whole is that he can also be of great benefit to Jack and Jeremy; both are new to these types of car and the UK circuits, and having a proven race winner alongside them will be a big benefit as they continue to get acquainted with their new surroundings.”
