Pablo Sarrazin completes promising French Formula 4 debut

KCMG Driver Development Project (KCMG-DDP) member Pablo Sarrazin showed strong race pace on his single-seater debut in the opening round of the 2022 French Formula 4 Championship at Circuit Paul Armagnac in Nogaro, making good progress across the weekend’s three races.

Having recently been announced as a member of the KCMG-DDP, 16-year-old Sarrazin took to the Nogaro circuit in the new-for-2022 #4 Mygale M21-F4. Showing steady improvements throughout Friday’s practice sessions, Sarrazin qualified 18th on Saturday morning, finishing in the same position in Race 1 the next day.

Working alongside KCMG-DDP Driver Coach Edo Liberati, the French youngster bounced back in Race 2, as a fast start saw Sarrazin make up seven positions on the way to a 12th place finish. His strong pace returned on Monday for the final race of the weekend, moving up four places to 12th before a 30-second post-race penalty demoted him to 22nd.

Sarrazin will continue to work with Liberati and KCMG as they prepare for the second round of the season at Circuit de Pau-Ville on 6-8 May.

Pablo Sarrazin:
“It was a positive debut for me in single-seaters, I had a good weekend where I was able to keep improving thanks to the help and advice from Edo. We will continue to work together with the team so we can focus on getting more comfortable in the car for the next race in Pau.”

Edio Liberati KCMG-DDP Driver Coach:
“Pablo made very good progress during his French F4 debut at Nogaro. He had two great starts and made some good overtakes in Race 2 on Saturday to finish P12 after a difficult qualifying session. Now all the focus is on working towards making further improvements for the upcoming round on the streets of Pau.”

Pauli Ip KCMG founder:
“I’m pleased to see Pablo make his single-seater debut in the French F4 Championship at Nogaro. Despite a tough qualifying and first race, he bounced back with some quick starts and great overtakes throughout the rest of the weekend. He’ll now work with Edo and the team to focus on continuing his progress at the next round in May.”
