Oliver Goethe stays with MP Motorsport for a full-season campaign in the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship.
Red Bull Junior Academy driver Oliver Goethe has already demonstrated his talent with MP Motorsport. Last weekend in Qatar, he delivered a spectacular performance, scoring his first F2 points with an impressive P4 finish in the Feature Race, narrowly missing out on the podium. Earlier this year, he also secured a podium finish at the 2024 Macau Grand Prix with the Dutch outfit.
Goethe graduated to F2 for the final four rounds of the 2024 F2 season as part of his transition to the championship after a highly successful stint in FIA Formula 3. Over the past two seasons, he claimed two wins and five podiums, consistently battling at the front of the field. His title challenge in 2024 came to a premature end when he seized the opportunity to step up to Formula 2 at Monza.
Oliver Goethe:
"I’m excited to confirm I’ll be racing full-time with MP Motorsport in 2025. The team and I have already built a great relationship, and I feel at home here. I’m ready to take on the challenge of Formula 2 with their guidance and expertise. The competition will be tough, but I’m confident we can achieve great things together."
With MP Motorsport’s proven track record in all levels of single-seater racing, including winning the FIA Formula 2 title in 2022, Goethe’s partnership with the team positions him as one of the most exciting prospects on the 2025 grid, flying the German flag proudly in the second tier of the single-seater pyramid.
Stuart Hall, Motorsports Director, ROFGO Racing:
“Very excited for Ollie to be in F2 next year. MP is like a home from home. We know the team well. They are a great F2 team and we can’t wait to spend another season with them. I first started coaching Ollie when he was 6 years old, so it’s very rewarding to see him once again in Red Bull colours competing in the feeder series to Formula One.”
The 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship kicks off with pre-season testing early next year, followed by the season opener in Melbourne, Australia, on March 15. The calendar features 14 rounds, including a visit to Jeddah, the only circuit Goethe has yet to race on.
