The final timed session that took place this afternoon in Hockenheim has seen the checkered flag waving over the Pre-Season Collective Test 2024 of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.
With a dry track setting the pace, it was once again Noah Strømsted (RPM), who this afternoon was the only driver to dip below the 1’35” barrier, achieving the best time over the two days of testing with a lap of 1’34”852. A little over four-tenths behind, Brando Badoer (Van Amersfoort Racing) finished the session in second place ahead of the three standard-bearers of the Prema Racing team, the two Ferrari Driver Academy drivers, James Wharton and Rafael Camara, and in fifth position, the driver from the McLaren Driver Academy, Ugo Ugochukwu.
Two drivers from the KIC Motorsport team, Alex Sawer and Costa Toparis, were also convincing, finishing sixth and seventh respectively, ahead of the Van Amersfoort Racing team’s Pedro Clerot. Rounding out the top 10 were also two cars from the MP Motorsport team, entrusted to Nikita Bedrin and Nikhil Bohra.
Now all eyes are on the first of the ten double rounds of the international series, which will take place in just over two weeks on the very same German track of Hockenheim.
