New titles to win for Rosberg Racing

This season racing in the WSK Final Cup with three drivers, the Rosberg Young Drivers Academy intends to win this top level competition. In the second of the three races of 2018 on the Italian circuit of Castelletto, Lorenzo Travisanutto in OK and Taylor Barnard in OK-Junior were able to significantly increase their points totals and remain the leaders in the overall standings.

Travisanutto still the leader

With its partners Petronas, Arexons and KR Motorsport, Rosberg Racing continues its mission, training young drivers and putting them in the best conditions to reach the heights of the sport. At the WSK Final Cup on 9th to 11th November, the performance was there again, especially in OK with Lorenzo Travisanutto dominating in Qualifying Practice. The 2018 World Champion confirmed his pole position by leading the Qualifying Heats with two fastest laps to his credit. The Italian scored 40 important points by winning the Prefinal, having led from start to finish. Unfortunately, a mechanical issue put an abrupt end to his demonstration.

Barnard and Antonelli close to the podium

In OK-Junior, the young rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli confirmed his potential in his second race in the category. He again progressed to the front of the field, as did his team-mate Taylor Barnard. The latter won two heats and Prefinal A, while achieving two fastest laps in the race. Meanwhile, Antonelli reached 2nd place at the end of the Qualifying heats and also set the fastest lap in Prefinal B where he finished in 3rd position.

In the Final, the two drivers in the Rosberg Racing, Petronas, Arexons and KR Motorsport colours were constantly in the top five. But while the podium was close for Barnard, the Briton was the victim of a final duel in the middle of a tumultuous pack. Barnard was down in 6th position with some regrets. In the incident, Antonelli was penalised for an unhooked spoiler and dropped to 12th. He too deserved a much higher ranking.

"Our KR-Parilla teams were still very competitive, as shown by the KR Motorsport team victories. But race incidents in the Final robbed Rosberg Racing of a better result," said team manager Dino Chiesa. "Still, Travisanutto in OK and Taylor Barnard in OK-Junior retain their positions at the top of the overall standings before the last race on 25th November in Adria. It is important! As for Andrea Kimi Antonelli, he was again very impressive for his young age and his short experience at this level."
