MP Motorsport to run Tommy Hilfiger-supported Alba Hurup Larsen for debut season in F1 ACADEMY™

Alba Hurup Larsen will join the F1 Academy grid with MP Motorsport in 2025 to represent the world-renowned Tommy Hilfiger brand in the all-female international single-seater racing series. The 16-year-old Danish driver is the first of three drivers to be run by the Dutch outfit in F1 Academy.

Alba will make the step up to F1 Academy on the back of a successful partnership with MP Motorsport in the 2024 Indian Formula 4 Championship. Prior to racing with MP in India, she won the fourth edition of the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars programme, promoted by the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission in conjunction with the Ferrari Driver Academy and Iron Dames. Experienced Danish F1 driver Kevin Magnussen has been her mentor in the past two years.

“I’m honoured to be named the Tommy Hilfiger driver and race with MP Motorsport in the 2025 F1 Academy season”, said Alba Hurup Larsen. “This pivotal opportunity builds on the brand’s groundbreaking efforts to empower women in motorsport, supported by F1 Academy’s debut on Netflix in 2025, with Reese Witherspoon acting as its executive producer. I will be a proud ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger and F1 Academy, committed to advocating gender equality in sports. I see it as my mission to bridge the gender gap in motorsport and work with like-minded individuals and brands to drive meaningful change.”

“We are extremely happy to welcome Alba in our F1 Academy line-up for 2025”, said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team principal. “Having just turned 16, she will be the series’ youngest competitor, but that fact only demonstrates her swift ascent up the single-seater ladder. She is a cool and confident young woman with the right attitude – eager to learn and fully committed to the challenge ahead. Together, by aligning with Tommy Hilfiger and F1 Academy, strong brands that both champion inclusivity, quality and innovation, we aim to inspire young girls worldwide to chase their dreams.”

More than just a racing driver, Alba Hurup Larsen also launched the Alba Academy in 2024, an initiative that aims to introduce more girls to motorsports. Following a successful start in Copenhagen, the Alba Academy is expanding to Sweden, Germany, US and China, with a goal of engaging 15,000 girls in 2025. Meanwhile, Alba Hurup Larsen placed third in the Danish national ‘Young Scientists’ competition, showcasing her dedication to excelling both on track and academically.
