MP Motorsport retains Tramnitz for 2025 FIA F3 Championship assault

Leading Dutch single-seater team MP Motorsport has re-signed Tim Tramnitz for his sophomore year in the FIA Formula 3 Championship - the Red Bull Junior, who already became a race winner in his debut season, aiming for more success in 2025.

German racer Tramnitz ran with squad at the recent collective FIA F3 tests at Jérez and Barcelona, breaking into the top five at the Catalan track having confidently run through an entire programme in the final runs with the departing F3-2021 car.

Going into his second year in FIA Formula 3, now with the new Dallara-penned F3-2025 machine, 19-year-old Tramnitz has decided to stick with MP Motorsport following a very promising debut season which netted a win at the final round at Monza.

The Hamburg driver also took three other podiums this year, the first of which during the opening round in Bahrain. In the end, the Red Bull Junior ended up a very competitive ninth in the overall standings and is aiming to lead MP Motorsport’s FIA F3 assault in 2025.

“I’m very pleased to continue with MP Motorsport for my second year in Formula 3”, said Tramnitz, “My rookie season contained many highlights, including my first F3 victory, and now our goal must be to improve our consistency and add more wins to our tally. The team and I have managed to create a strong relationship in 2024, and I’m looking forward to use that as a platform for more success in 2025, getting as much out of the new car as we can.”

“It’s wonderful Tim has decided to stay with us for another go at the FIA Formula 3 Championship”, said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team principal, “I’m happy to know he has found a true home at MP, and we will continue to provide the family atmosphere in which our drivers revel and thrive. This year, Tim has had a fantastic rookie season in F3 and we aim to build on that for 2025. It’s our plan to be frontrunners at every race.”

Tramnitz is set to continue a very successful trajectory in single-seater racing, having been third in FRECA in 2023 with three wins, 10 podiums, four pole positions and a fastest lap. Prior to this, he was a regular FRECA points scorer in 2022. In 2021, the German youngster became the runner-up in both the Italian and the German F4 Championships, having been fourth in the 2020 German series.
