Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati to Host WKA Manufacturers Cup Grand Nationals

“Two additional classes added to weekend schedule”

It is that time of the year again, time for the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturers Cup Grand Nationals. Taking place at the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati, teams and competitors will take on the Batavia, Ohio facility in their quest to garner WKA Grand National trophies and a spot in the history books.

“Next to WKA Daytona Kart Week, the Grand Nationals are one of the main events that every racer in our program wants to win,” explained WKA President Kevin Williams. “2022 is no exception to the program, and we are happy to have this prestigious event at one of the newest and premier tracks in the Midwest, and a new track on the Manufacturers Cup calendar, the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati.”

Set to take place over the August 12-14 weekend, the following classes will race for Grand National awards. Utilizing the traditional format of Friday practice, a full slate of racing will take place on Saturday and Sunday with practice, qualifying, pre-finals and main events. With everything included in the WKA entry fee for all three days, there are no hidden costs.

Williams added, “We will be running KA100 Masters which is a local favorite and to sweeten the pot, they will be racing for Grand National awards and prize money like KA100 Junior and Senior. Additionally, Kid Kart Comer will run both days. Drivers can take their best finish of the two separate race days and have that finish applied to their National Championship.”

New Class and Clarifications
Regarding 206 Cadet
206 Cadet Advanced utilizes the yellow slide and will be a new class beginning at the WKA Kart Week in Daytona. This has been a very successful class in the WKA Gold Cup allowing drivers that enter the standard 206 Cadet green slide class the ability to enter the faster yellow slide class as they look add more track time and increase their skillset. This faster class will also be part of our 2023 WKA Kart Week Daytona class structure giving 206 Cadet drivers two classes of competition in the 206 Cadet division.

Regarding Ignite Senior
To receive Ignite Senior year end points at MCC, drivers wishing to get their points for the end of the year championship will utilize the Vega Red tires but must use the Ignite chassis. These drivers will compete in the CIK 206 Senior #360 class and their finishing position will apply to the CIK 206 race and your finish against other Ignite drivers will be added to your Ignite Championship points for the 2022 season.

Regarding Kid Kart
Kid Kart Comer will run both days. Drivers can take their best finish of the two separate race days and have that finish applied to their National Championship.

The following classes will be eligible for end of the year championship prizes. If your class is not listed below, it did not meet the WKA criteria to be considered a 2022 championship class:

  • Kid Kart Comer
  • Micro Swift
  • Mini Swift
  • 206 Cadet
  • 206 Junior
  • KA Junior
  • KA Senior
  • CIK 206 Senior #360
