Morocco’s Suleiman Zanfari wins again in F4 in Kuwait

The Saudi Arabian F4 Championship kicked off on the weekend of 1st-3rd February 2024 at Kuwait Motor Town. Suleiman Zanfari took a clear victory in the first race of the season. Races 2 and 3, contested with reversed grids for the top drivers, were less favourable to him, but he was able to finish 4th in Race 4 while setting the fastest time. This puts him in the lead in the provisional rankings. The competition continues next weekend, from February 8th to 10th, on the same circuit.

Suleiman had already shown his potential at the F4 Saudi Arabia Trophy Event at the Bahrain International Circuit last December with a pole position and a win. At the first meeting of the Aramco-backed F4 Saudi Arabia Championship, the young Moroccan once again made his country's national anthem ring out by winning Race 1, despite a very lively race. The race was restarted after a red flag and Suleiman took advantage of the situation to move into the lead position and win the race in style.

Because of the inverted grid for the top 10 in Race 2, Suleiman started 10th and progressed to 4th position. 9th on the inverted grid in Race 3, he again climbed to 5th before being classified 9th due to a questionable penalty.

The fourth and final race of the meeting saw Suleiman make a remarkable comeback to 4th position after an incident which had delayed him considerably on the first lap. He took advantage of this to confirm his great speed by setting the fastest time of the race.

As fast as ever, Suleiman had mixed fortunes after his superb victory in Race 1 at Kuwait Motor Town, but he is determined to extend his lead at the top of the standings next weekend at Round 2 of the Saudi Arabian F4 Championship.
