The highest German Kart series DKM is about to start. In three weeks, the starting signal will be given in the modern Arena E in Mülsen. Once again, a lot of action with an attractive program awaits the participants. Registration is even possible after the start of the season. The Mini 60 will also be taking part for the first time, with up to €70,000 in prize money in the team championship.
This season, the German Kart Championship is once again part of the international FIA karting calendar and consists of five race weekends. After the start in Mülsen, events in Genk (Belgium), Wackersdorf, Kerpen, and the finale in Franciacorta (Italy) will follow. The championship consists of the four categories DKM (OK), DJKM (OK Junior), DSKM (KZ2), and DSKC (KZ2), in all of which the participants also score points for the International Karting Ranking (IKR).
Mini 60 in the supporting program for the first time
At the races in Mülsen, Genk (BEL), and Kerpen, the young racers from the Mini 60 class will compete. The races will be held in accordance with the international CIK karting regulations, which means that the series also offers a perfect basis for international drivers. Youngsters from the age of 10 are eligible to start, with the age group rule (2010-2013) applying. For the start, a national kart license with foreign start permission is needed. The starting field will be limited to 36 participants per event. The class is organized by the Dutch promoter Chrono Karting.
Team championship with up to 70,000 euros in prize money
Unique in European karting is the prize money in the team championship. Depending on the enrollment, up to 70,000 euros will be distributed. A great incentive to achieve success with your protégés. The first ten teams can look forward to a payout.
Late deciders can still register after the start of the season.
Drivers who enter the season opener in Mülsen as guest driver can still decide to enter a full season after the race weekend. In case of a later registration in one of the four categories, the entry fee from Mülsen will be offset against the registration fee. Participants will also be credited with the points from Mülsen after the event.
Rookie and master classification with attractive prizes
As in the past two years, there will again be a rookie classification in the DKM (OK) and DJKM (OK Junior). In the Juniors, youngsters born in 2011 and in the OK drivers born in 2009 automatically count towards the Rookie classification. The champion will be awarded a large trophy at the end of the season and will receive a free start for the following season. For the first time, there will be a Masters classification in both KZ2 categories for participants born in 1988 and older. These are also automatically classified in the championship and honored at the end of the year with a championship trophy and a free start for the 2024 season.
