Lexie Belk confirms GB4 privateer entry for Donington Park season finale

Sports car racer Lexie Belk will make her single-seater debut in the GB4 Championship at the Donington Park season finale on 21/22 October, after confirming plans to join the series as a private entrant.  The 16-year-old from Doncaster is a podium finisher in the GT5 Pro category of this year’s Ginetta GT Championship, having taken two third place finishes from 14 races in 2023, with both coming at Donington Park in May.

Prior to her graduation into Ginettas, Belk had impressed in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship last season, finishing fourth overall and second in the Rookie class. In total, she claimed six top-six results and was inside the top-10 in every race in which she took the chequered flag.

Her career began at the age of nine in Cadet Karting, after which she moved up to Minimax and Junior Rotax levels before moving into cars for the first time last season.  The move into single-seaters will come with assistance from fellow privateer Dylan Hotchin and at the wheel of a Tatuus F4 T-014 car purchased from 2022 frontrunners Hillspeed. She has already completed test days at Oulton Park and Donington in recent weeks, and will now make her series debut at the East Midlands venue on 21-22 October. She will run under the Belk Racing banner.

Lexie Belk said: “I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to move up into the GB4 Championship. My ultimate racing goal since starting karting has been to race in single-seaters, and I can't wait to get racing. Testing has been going very well, I've had three days in the car already and I'm learning so much each time as I get to grips with the car. I'm so grateful to everyone who has supported me in the last seven years of my career, hopefully, Donington goes well so we can come back next year.”

Belk Racing Team Principal Paul Belk said: “We are incredibly excited to embark on the next stage of Lexie's racing career. We know that running as privateers means we still have a lot to learn, but we feel more than ready to take on the challenge. Lexie has shown great potential in testing and we look forward to putting this into practice during the last round of the year at Donington Park.”
