Kosmic Kart introduces the Mercury RR and the new m.y. ’22 chassis

Officially unveiled the new top-of-the-range Kosmic chassis for the single speed, shifter and DD2 categories. Kosmic Kart projects into 2022 with some impatiently awaited news, concerning the chassis range: the Mercury RR is born and it is joined by a couple of chassis reserved for the Mini class, they are the Rookie EVH and the Rookie EVS.

The newborn products keep faith with the company "principle" "Designed, Engineered, Manufactured, 100% made in OTK - Italy", which is the basis of all OTK Kart Group products. The Italian company has always made the utmost control of the entire design and production chain a real feather in its cap, thanks also to the use of automated processes that guarantee uncompromising production standards.

The Mercury RR embodies the maximum evolution of the constant work of the OTK Kart Group R&D department. An activity that has taken shape over the years with triumphs of absolute prestige: 5 world titles, a KF3 World Cup and three CIK-FIA Asia-Pacific. And the 2021 season, which is now ending, has been no less generous in terms of results thanks to the two vice World Champion titles in the OK and OKJ categories, as well as the European title in the "Junior" category.

New aerodynamic kit
OTK Kart Group's R&D department has been investing in the aerodynamic development of its chassis in an almost pioneering way for several years, through wind tunnel tests and CFD computer simulations. The result of this work has first materialized in the innovative M7 number plate, now made of blue plastic, which integrates in a complementary way with the new M10 kit for the Mercury RR: the front fairing and the rear protection adjustable in width, in compliance with the latest FIA regulations, are combined with the new side bumpers, now lighter in weight and smaller in size, to the benefit of performance and better cooling of the rear tyres.

Tailored driver seat
The achieving of the optimal driving position is an absolute priority for every driver. OTK Kart Group knows this very well, which is why the continuous refinement of every detail concerning this aspect has never ended, with the Mercury RR, too. The newborn Kosmic model is equipped with a footrest that allows a greater excursion in terms of adjustment and includes new seat supports. These solutions are in addition to the already well-known HGS steering wheel combined with the inclined hub.

BSZ Braking System
After the excellent results recently obtained in the most prestigious races in the world, the BSD system for the single speed versions and the BSS for the shifter and DD2 versions of the Mercury RR, have been confirmed. In addition, we find the new BSZ braking system reserved for the shifter version only, equipped with brake pumps with larger diameter pistons that make braking even more modular.

The Rookie goes in two
The chassis reserved for the Mini class has been "split". The range is extended by the Rookie EVS, equipped with a frame that in terms of geometry favours the use of more "soft" compound tyres. Both the Rookie EVS and EVH are equipped with a new floating brake disc.
