Kart Republic: Victory on all fronts for the KR chassis

June was a particularly busy month for KR Motorsport and its partner teams, with three major international competitions in less than 30 days. Whether in the Champions of the Future Euro Series, the FIA Karting European Championship or WSK Promotion, victory was on the cards in several categories, with various tyre manufacturers. At Franciacorta, on the opening event of the WSK Euro Series, the Italian brand took victory with Swede Scott Lindblom (Fusion Motorsport) in OK and with Team Driver Racing Kart: Daniel Miron Lorente in Mini Group 3 and Antonio Pizzonia in OK-N Junior.

Scott Lindblom imperious in OK

After the victories of Joe Turney and Thibaut Ramaekers in Slovakia, this category saw another success for the KR chassis. Scott Lindblom brilliantly dominated the event. He took pole position, won all three heats, the Super Heat and the Final. With David Cosma Cristofor (KR Motorsport), winner of one heat, his team-mate Salim Hanna and Andrea Dupé (Prema Racing), this brought the number of KR-IAME chassis on the first four starting lines of the Final to four. All three drivers managed to stay in the top eight in the Final.

KR-IAME still on top in Mini

The Team Driver Racing Kart put the KR chassis and IAME engine through their paces at Franciacorta. David Moscardi and Leon Chelidze battled it out at the front in the Mini U10 class, while Daniel Miron Lorente gradually closed the gap on his Mini 60 Group 3 rivals to win unchallenged. His team-mate Oleksandr Legenkyi joined him on the 3rd step of the podium.

Team Driver Racing Kart was also represented in the OK-N Junior class, notably by Antonio Pizzonia. Despite stiff competition, the Brazilian made the difference in the Final.

Niklas Schaufler (DPK Racing) and Dean Hoogendoorn (AKM Motorsport) were at the top of the order during the Qualifying Heats. Unfortunately, the Final did not turn out to their advantage, with Schaufler fighting for a podium place for a long time. Meanwhile, his DPK Racing teammate Bosco Arias moved up 10 places to join the top eight.

Congratulations to all the KR Motorsport drivers for their performances at Franciacorta: Luca Palacio in Mini 60, Lewis Francis, Guy Albag, Taxiarchis Kolovos Stylianos and Bernardo Bernoldi in OK, and Bogdan Cosma Cristofor and Arjen Kraeling in OK-Junior.

Comments from Dino Chiesa, Head of KR Global Motorsport Company

"The WSK Euro Series remains a benchmark competition at international level, with a large number of drivers and excellent organisation from Luca De Donno's team. After Slovakia and the victory with Maxxis tyres, we worked hard in Franciacorta to perform well with LeCont and Vega tyres. My special congratulations to Fusion Motorsport for their triumphant weekend. Scott Lindblom was impressive in OK, while his team also won in Germany on the Wackersdorf circuit with Harrison Mackie in the X30 Junior in the IAME Euro Series. The KR chassis also won the X30 Senior class thanks to Fionn McLaughlin (VDK Racing). The calendar is definitely very busy, as we are now concentrating on the European KZ, KZ2 and KZ Master Championships, which start in Spain on the Alcaniz circuit. We have a title to defend!”
