Kart CRG: More than 300 drivers at the WSK Master next weekend

From 9th to 13th February the Lonato track will host the 2nd round of the WSK Master, which will be attended by around 350 drivers in the 4 international Mini, OK Junior, OK Senior and KZ categories. This large turnout is a positive sign and rewards the choice of the main teams and constructors involved in international karting, to jointly select the races to take part in, on the sidelines of the FIA Karting events. In this way the commitments of the teams will be more manageable and the show on the track always at a high level.

The CRG Racing Team will be there with an (almost) complete line-up especially for what concerns the KZ class, where there will be its top drivers in addition to the very young Andrea Bosetto. This weekend's appointment will have an important competitive value, thanks to the comparison with all the most important teams and drivers of international karting and will be useful especially for continuing the technical development work of the new 2022 chassis.

The weather forecasts are good with a week of sunshine and mild temperatures, a factor that will facilitate the work of the technical staff and the drivers, but will also offer a thrilling show to all enthusiasts.

Alongside the six drivers who took part in the 1st Round 15 days ago in the KZ class (Jeremy Iglesias, Paavo Tonteri, Viktor Gustavsson, Brandon Nilsson, Alex Irlando and Natalia Balbo), CRG will also line-up Jorge Pescador, Lorenzo Giannoni and the new entry Andrea Bosetto. In the OK category, the Brazilian Gabriel Gomez will defend the CRG colors, while Sebastian Garzon Orozco will make his debut in OKJ. The CRG brand will also be protagonist in the Mini category, with the Danish Oliver Rasmussen, the Russian Nikita Gerasimets and the German Emilio Bernd.

The long weekend program in Lonato includes 2 days of free practice (Wednesday and Thursday) and starting from Friday the qualifying practice and the preliminary heats, which will lead to the Pre-finals and Finals on Sunday. Live timing will be available to follow the action on the track and on Sunday it will also be possible to watch the live streaming on the official website of WSK Promotion (www.wskarting.it).

Drivers’ expectations:

Viktor Gustavsson (KZ): “During my first race with CRG 15 days ago there was certainly a bit of pressure and some work mechanisms with the team had to be tested, but already for this weekend everything will be more fluid. We have shown that we have great potential and now we have to concentrate on the set-up work and do some comparative tests on two different chassis versions that we will have available; from this point of view it is very positive to know that the weather will be beautiful all week, so that the planning of our work will be carried out without obstacles. It is also very useful to have teammates of such a high level, as the data we exchange allows us to do a lot of tests in a short time. For Sunday I would like to score my first podium with CRG and I will fight for it, even if there will be a lot of competition, also against my own teammates ".

Alex Irlando (KZ): “The first WSK race did not go very well for me, partly because I hadn't done the last winter tests and partly because from a technical point of view I couldn't find the best set-up between chassis and engine. The team did very well by the way and all the potential of the 2022 chassis has emerged, a factor that motivates us a lot. My goal will be to focus on performance this weekend, also working in qualifying terms, because with such a high-value entry list, it will be very important to start from the front already in the qualifying heats ".

Gabriel Gomez (OK): “We have worked a lot between the 1st WSK race and this weekend, both on the chassis and on the engine; now we will have to check all the data collected in race conditions, with the track gradually getting a very high grip, considering the more than 300 drivers who will take part in the event and the number of new tires that will be used by all of them. Talkin about the chassis we know we have an excellent potential and also as regards the engine we will already have some evolutions from this race that will improve our overall performance”.
