Jarrod Waberski will return to the GB3 Championship for a second season in 2024, switching to Elite Motorsport for a planned title challenge.

The 18-year-old South African finished ninth in his maiden GB3 campaign in 2023, recording 14 top-10 finishes including a podium at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Waberski, who bases himself near Silverstone during the season, graduated to GB3 last year having starred in the inaugural GB4 Championship campaign in 2022. Competing outside his native South Africa for the first time, he finished runner-up in a season that included four race wins and 14 podiums in total.

Jarrod won regional kart championships in 2013, 2017, and 2018, including the South African title in 2018, prior to becoming a regular race winner in the South African Formula Ford 1600 Championship, where he finished runner-up in 2021.

Jarrod Waberski said: “My main goal is to win the championship. It will be tough as there is always a super strong and competitive field in GB3 but I believe Elite and I can definitely win the championship! “The biggest thing I learnt last year was how important it is to be consistent and how important it is to maximise each race. “Everything just clicked when I joined Elite, with the car and with the whole team! Straight from the first session, I felt at home in their car. It is nice to be back with the team that I had my first ever test with in 2019, in a Ginetta Junior, and so it feels like I’m returning home.

“The way to win the title is all about being consistent, right from the first race to the last one of the season, every qualifying session, every race and every reverse grid race needs to be maximised throughout the season.”

Elite Motorsport Team Owner and Manager said: “It’s been a few years in the making trying to sign Jarrod and we have got so close for the past few years with various different squads. “Having done one of his first days out of karts and in a car back in 2019, we know how talented Jarrod is.
