Iron Dames Young Talents selection concludes with promising performances

The Iron Dames Young Talents Karting selection for 2024 has successfully concluded, showcasing a rigorous and inspiring program aimed at identifying and nurturing the next generation of female racing talent. The event, held at the Franciacorta Karting Track, brought together 20 of the world’s brightest young karting talents aged eight to 13, providing them with a unique platform to showcase their skills and potential across two action-packed days.

Event Highlights and Program

Over the course of the selection, participants engaged in a comprehensive program designed to test and develop their skills. From administrative checks and gear preparation to multiple warm-up sessions and timed practices, each candidate had the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities under the guidance of experienced professionals from PREMA Racing and Iron Dames detection’s cell including former racing driver, Cathy Muller.

The selection camp also featured esteemed members of the Iron Dames, including Michelle Gatting, Rahel Frey, and the new pink generation represented by Vicky Farfus and Mia Oger. Their involvement provided invaluable insights and inspiration to the participants, further elevating the experience.

Expert Analysis and Next Steps

As the camp concludes, the experts’ panel will now meticulously analyse all gathered data to ensure a thorough assessment of each participant's performance. This detailed analysis is crucial to ensure that every aspect of their performance is considered in order to make informed decisions about potential opportunities to join the Iron Dames ranks as part of the Young Talents program.

The final conclusions will determine if one or more candidates already have the sufficient talent and maturity to embark on a journey towards a racing career in the highly supportive and competitive environment of the Iron Dames family.

A Unique and Valuable Experience for All Participants

Regardless of the final selection outcome, every participant has benefited immensely from this immersive experience. The event provided a valuable platform for each young racer to benchmark their abilities, gain insights into their future development paths, and draw additional motivation from their first taste of the Iron Dames environment. It has never been about competition but about passion, growth, learning, and inspiration. The Iron Dames are committed to nurturing the next generation of female racing talent, and this event marks a significant step towards that long-term goal and confirms that the future of women in motorsport looks bright.

Cathy Muller, Iron Dames Detection Cell said: "We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 20 talented participants and their families for their presence, with some travelling great distances to be here. These passionate, determined, and talented young women are already dreaming of careers in motorsport, and their aspirations resonate with mission of the Iron Dames project. This program is not a competition to crown a winner but an opportunity for each participant to showcase their driving skills, work ethic, and embodiment of the Iron Dames spirit. Regardless of the final outcomes, all participants gained invaluable experience from this unique program, supported by the expertise of the PREMA Racing team, for which we are grateful."
