Information about the 13th Rotax African Open 2023 at Zwartkops Raceway

The 13th Rotax Africa Open will take place at Zwartkops Raceway on 1 October 2023. This event will feature Africa's top drivers competing for an invitation to the 2023 ROTAX Max Grand Final in Sakhir, Bahrain. The final heat winners in each class will be crowned the Rotax African Open Champions for 2023. The program for the event will span across Saturday and Sunday, offering an exciting weekend of racing. Invitations and other prizes

Winner of Bambino class: Rotax Grand Final South Africa team suit.

Winner of Micro Max: Air-ticket to watch the RMCGF in Bahrain.

Winner of Mini Max class: Invitation to race at the RMCGF 2023 in Bahrain.

Winner of Junior Max class: Invitation to race at the RMCGF 2023 in Bahrain.

Winner of Senior Max class: Invitation to race at the RMCGF 2023 in Bahrain.

Winner of DD2 class: Invitation to race at the RMCGF 2023 in Bahrain.

Winners of DD2 Masters class: Air-ticket to watch the RMCGF in Bahrain.

Trophies for top 6 finishers in each class. Bambino competitors from seventh onward receive medals.

NB: In the event that a seat becomes available for air ticket winners in the Micro Max and DD2 Masters categories to participate in the RMCGF 2023, the winner will receive this seat in place of the air-ticket.

 

RMCGF

Competitors who win an invitation will receive free use of a brand-new chassis, new engine, wet and dry tires, fuel, oil, a trolley, tools, and free admission to the world's best karting event. The event will take place from December 2–9, 2023, in Sahkir, Bahrain.

 

Practice

To allow competitors traveling from other countries sufficient time on track there is no practice restriction for this event. Please note that Zwartkops International Kart Raceway is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. For the live events calendar, please follow this link.

 

Licensing

All drivers with active, valid MSA karting licenses who have karts that meet the requirements of the 2023 Series Specific Regulations and the SARMC Technical Regulations 2023 are eligible to compete. With a starting permission from MSA, all foreign competitors may compete using their home license.
