With 25 days to go until the opening round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, the majority of this year’s field were at Paul Ricard as pre-season testing.
The fastest recorded time came from ART Grand Prix’s Gabriele Minì, with an effort of 1m57.226s set yesterday during the morning session, while R-ace GP’s Gabriel Bortoleto was quickest in the combined standings of the second day, with a lap of 1m58.850s.
It was a second day testing of contrasting weather conditions for the contenders, with plenty of dry running in the morning and almost non-stop rain in the afternoon. The Brazilian driver, bearer of the reigning champion team, was the fastest ahead of Matias Zagazeta (G4 Racing).
Van Amersfoort Racing’s Joshua Dufek was third fastest while Hadrien David (R-ace GP) and Kas Haverkoort (Van Amersfoort Racing) have completed the top 5.
Owen Tangavelou (G4 Racing) posted the sixth quickest time, ahead of Lorenzo Fluxa (R-ace GP), Leonardo Fornaroli (Trident Motorsport), Dino Beganovic (Prema Racing) and Pietro Armanni (Monolite Racing) completing the top 10.
Maceo Capietto (Monolite Racing) was the fastest in the last session under the heavy rain.
The European series will be back on track in Monza next week (5-6 April) for the last official test.
