The current international context, which sees the stopping of international motor racing generated by the epidemiological emergency of COVID-19, is creating changes to many motor racing championships also at an international level.

The top management of ACI Sport met together with those of the WSK Promotion and confirmed that all the events of the 2020 calendar of the Formula Regional European Championship certified by FIA and the Italian F4 Championship will be carried out, subject to partial rescheduling. If some of these are cancelled, they will be recovered on another date and also on other possible racetracks.

The meeting also served to define a series of points that will further improve the two championships, creating even more continuity between F4, Formula Regional and F3, in the natural FIA path from karting to F1. Firstly, the decision of the FIA World Council was confirmed with satisfaction, indication once more that Formula Regional is the only championship, among those of the same category, to have FIA certification and the awarding of 25 points useful for the Super License. Not to forget, among other things, the 200,000 euros in prize money and the test organized by Ferrari, on a single-seater of the FIA Formula 3 championship for the winner of the 2020 title, a test that will take place under the eyes of FDA observers.

The commitment is also absolute for the Italian F4 championship, among all the most successful in terms of participation of teams and drivers and series which, with its debut in our country in 2014, marked the way for others. Among the decisions taken, as the first support for teams and drivers of the Italian F4 Championship, the decision to postpone the adoption of the new F4 to 2022.
