A fantastic Race 1 in Mugello has been disputed, with Paul Aron (Prema Powerteam) starting from pole position, being overtaken by Michael Belov (G4 _Racing) at the start, but not giving up and managing to gain back the lead and final win, taking advantage of the restart after the first of two safety cars.
Behind Belov, second, is finally David Vidales (Prema Powerteam), going up from the ninth position on the grid, also thanks to the accident between Dino Beganovic (Prema Powerteam), who was in the third position after having been overtaken at the start by Belov, Mari Boya (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport).
Best of the Rookies is Gabriel Bortoleto, sixth overall, who has started tenth on the grid.
But it is the great champion Grègoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix) who manages to mathematically conquer the Title with three races in advance to the end of the season, thanks to a final fifth position in Race 1. With 88 points of advantage on Hadrien David (R-ace GP), involved in the initial accident and having to stop in the pit lane and restart last (he will be finally 23rd), the Swiss driver obtains an amazing success and is the first Title winner of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, certified by FIA and co-organized by ACI Sport and Alpine.

Winning such an important championship, point of reference in the FIA ladder to F1 is amazing, and battling with so many strong drivers is an additional satisfaction. My most exciting win has been in Imola, as it was the first of the season, but also some perfect weekends like in Barcelona and Zandvoort were really fantastic. I think we have worked with the team as a real Team, all perfectly coordinated with a unique aim, knowing each one what to do and doing it together in the right way. This, I think, is the key of my fantastic season this year. This is my first championship title, so it is additionally exiting”, has commented the first Title winner of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, Grègoire Saucy.
