Formula Regional by Alpine takes the stage at Hungaroring

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine resumes this weekend at Budapest’s Hungaroring for rounds 11 and 12 with Prema Racing‘s Dino Beganovic as the current points leader. The young Swedish will try to defend his 36-point margin ahead of his teammate Paul Aron, who scored a double win at Zandvoort, while Gabriele Minì (ART Grand Prix) hopes to further reduce his gap of 39 points.

The first part of the season has seen four drivers to take turns on the top step of the podium, with Beganovic having three wins, Aron four, Minì two and Hadrien David one. The R-ace GP driver, winner of the first race in Monaco, holds fourth place in the standings ahead of Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing), who this season has collected three podiums (Monaco, Paul Ricard and Zandvoort).

Michael Belov completes the top six, with the MP Motorsport bearer looking for his first win of the season, just like Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP) and Mari Boya (ART Grand Prix) who are seventh and eighth respectively in the overall standings.

Sebastian Montoya (Prema Racing) and Leonardo Fornaroli (Trident Motorsport) round out the top 10 and are competing for the top spot in the rookie standings, with the Colombian topping the list with 40 points.

At Hungaroring pre-collective tests will kick-off the weekend on Thursday with two more tests scheduled for Friday. Qualifying on day one of the race meeting is set to get underway at 09:00 on Saturday, 9th July, with the first of two 30-minute plus one lap races following at 13:55. On Sunday qualifying two will commence at 9:55. The second race will start at 16:40. Race one and two will be streamed live on the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine Facebook page and official YouTube channel.
