There could not be a better start for the new Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine – certified by FIA than the one on the 16, 17 and 18 of April at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in the same weekend of the second appointment of the F1, the Formula 1 Pirelli Gran Premio del Made in Italy e Dell'Emilia Romagna 2021. More than 30 drivers are ready for the first two races of the season, after the three two days collective tests appointments that have taken place in Imola, Barcelona and Le Castellet. Unfortunately, Léna Bühler of R-ace GP, still recovering from an injury occurred during the pre-season collective tests in Imola, will not be at the start, and so Belèn Garcia of G4 Racing will be the only woman in this first 2021 appointment.
The program sees Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine as the only support series at the Imola F1 racing weekend. The schedule is planned with two 50’ Free Practices on Friday, two 20’ Qualifying Practices on Saturday, and Race 1 (30’ plus 1 lap) the same day in the afternoon. Race 2 (30’ plus 1 lap) will conclude the racing weekend of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine – certified by FIA, on Sunday morning.
