Energy Corse takes up residence on the podium

The FIA Karting European Championship for the OK and OKJunior categories will start in Portugal from 8th to 10th April 2022 and Energy Corse has entered a team of seven drivers. The Italian team has prepared perfectly for the great event by participating in several major international events since the beginning of the season and scoring excellent results. This was also the case at the opening of the Champions of the Future Euro Series in Portimao: Tomass Stolcermanis gained another top three in OK, while Andres Cardenas finished 4th in OK-Junior.

The technical staff managed by Luigina Guerrini and Simone Sorio, the competitiveness of the Italian brand’s chassis and the TM Racing engines prepared to perfection by GFR are perfectly in place at Energy Corse! The 2022 season started in January with a victory, and since then, excellent results have followed one after another. The drivers have made the most of this particularly high-performance equipment, while the atmosphere in the Energy Corse awning confirms the team’s state of mind.

After gold, bronze for Stolcermanis in OK

In the extreme south of Portugal, Tomass Stolcermanis experienced the Euro Series at the forefront, from the first heat to the Final! The Latvian driver was very fast in Free Practice on Thursday (two fastest times), and was 7th in Timed Qualifying, before finishing 1st, 5th and 2nd three times in the Qualifying Heats. Stolcermanis also set the fastest time in the Saturday morning warmup and finished 4th in the Super Heat. In the Final, he fought hard for 3rd place, four weeks after his victory in the Winter Series. With just a few days to go before the start of the European OK Championship, organised on the same circuit in Portimao, Tomass and his team are hoping to continue this positive momentum.

OK-Junior: Successfull debut in the Euro Series for Cardenas

The Energy chassis proved to be just as effective with the MG tyres used in the OK category as with the Vega tyres used in the OK-Junior category. Andres Cardenas was again able to demonstrate his great talent. Although he was only 13th in Timed Practice, he made the most of his five Qualifying Heats to make a strong comeback, finishing 4th, 6th, 2nd, 4th and 1st, with two fastest laps in the race. No doubt, the Peruvian was there to aim for victory! 3rd in his Super Heat, he played a major role throughout the Final. The fight was relentless in the leading group and Anders Cardenas finally crossed the finish line in a magnificent 4th position.

“The whole team is delighted with the excellent results achieved in Portimao by Tomass Stolcermanis and Andres Cardenas,” commented Mick Panigada, Energy Corse manager. “This bodes well as the FIA Karting Championships get underway. Congratulations also to Martin Molnar who gained 13 places in the OK-Junior Final. We are delighted to have welcomed Jules Caranta to our team and we have been constantly looking to help Alexander Dahlstrom and Jensen Burnett progress.”
