From 60 Mini to KZ2, you can always count on the Energy Corse team in the major international events! The young Latvian Tomass Stolcermanis demonstrated this during the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship by finishing 3rd in the OK-Junior category. His Russian teammate Tigran Bunatyan was also at the forefront in France on the Aunay les Bois circuit. Proof that the Energy Corse-TM Racing teams will be a force to be reckoned with throughout the 2021 season.

With 82 entries, the OK-Junior category still offered a real technical and human challenge in the northeast of France. "At Energy Corse, we have had one of the most experienced and competent teams in Europe for many years. Luigina Guerrini does an incredible job on the technical side," said Mick Panigada, head of the famous Italian team. "We have often come to France to the circuit of Aunay les Bois and we have taken many podiums there. I am delighted that this was the case again this time, it shows once again the competitiveness of our chassis and our engine manufacturer GFR."

Stolcermanis racing with the best in OK-Junior

The meeting started with Tomass Stolcermanis setting the 2nd fastest time in Qualifying, while Tigran Bunatyan took a promising 14th place. Both drivers then had very good runs in the Qualifying Heats. On Saturday afternoon, the Latvian and the Russian crossed the finish line in 1st and 2nd positions in one of the heats! This intense emotion for the Energy Corse team continued, especially during the Final.

"We adapted the equipment perfectly to the characteristics of the MG tyres and the Aunay les Bois circuit. The performance was clearly there," admitted the Energy Corse team manager. "It's a pity that Tigran Bunatyan was penalised in one heat because of his spoiler, and that he had a small incident in the Final, because he deserved better than 22nd place. As for Tomass Stolcermanis, he was impressive, finishing 3rd on Sunday afternoon after starting in 6th position."

Spanish driver Jose Antonio Gomez Gutierrez and Dutch driver Nathan Schaap were also racing, in the OK class. Schaap, who finished in the top 10 of the WSK Euro Series at Lonato in April in the OK-Junior class, is still discovering his new category and is keen to improve.

These significant results in the European Championship come on top of the early season results in the other categories. For example in 60 Mini with the Canadian Jensen Burnett or with the Briton Alfie Slater. In the top 10 in the WSK Super Master Series in March in Sarno, Alfie also led the heats out of a total of 90 drivers. In KZ2, Lithuanian Kajus Siksnelis made a promising debut in his new category alongside his Dutch teammates Joey Van Splunteren and Martijn Van Leeuwen, who will be worth watching in the next races.

Finally, the Energy Corse colours shone in the Italian Championship, with the podium in the 60 Mini class in May at Val Vibrata with Giacomo Giusto (Revolution Motor Sport team) finishing 1st.
