The German Kart Championship will use Aspen+ fuel in the coming season. Specialised fuel for small engines. Fuel has already been introduced successfully in karting in the USA and Sweden.
The ADAC will use an innovative new fuel in the German Kart Championship from this season. In the future, the highest German karting series will run on Aspen+ fuel, which was developed specifically for small engines without exhaust after-treatment systems and is already used with great success in karting in the USA and Sweden.
Aspen+ is provided by the Aspen Group from Sweden, which this year also supplies the DTM with a sustainable fuel through its brand Coryton. The specially developed racing fuel for the DKM has a 98 octane rating and, thanks to the reduction of fuel vapours and fewer unburned constituents, is better for health and the environment than conventional petrol. Aspen+ ensures complete combustion in the engine, resulting in fewer deposits in the engine itself.
“It is important to us to use innovative fuels on the junior scene, as these will become significantly more relevant in the coming years. By using the Aspen fuel, we are taking an important first step in karting,” says ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss.
The new fuel will have its first outing on 19th April in the Belgian town of Mariembourg – venue for the opening round of the German Kart Championship. The young racers then head to Mülsen, Ampfing and Kerpen, before, in keeping with tradition, the season finale takes place in Wackersdorf.
