DKM Round 2 at Kerpen in normal driving direction

After the German Kart Championship announced the relocation of the second race weekend to Kerpen a few days ago, a survey of the participants followed. They wish for the normal driving direction, thus, the second event will take place counterclockwise as usual.

From Kerpen, the drivers and teams of the DKM will return to Kerpen again. The planned premiere on the new kart track in Mülsen (Saxony) had to be cancelled. The people in charge of the Erftlandring offered themselves as a replacement and are now also hosting the second race weekend of the highest German kart race series.

In order to offer the drivers some variety, the event was supposed take place in the opposite driving direction – the track in Kerpen is allowed to be driven on in both directions. However, there were so many inquiries of the participants that the organization decided to conduct a survey among all participants. The result was clear, and the majority would like to keep the current driving direction. Hence, the second round in Kerpen takes place in its usual matter.

What is new, however, are the possibilities for test drives on Thursday. From now on, the participants will have the chance to complete their first laps on Thursday. This regulation applies to the remaining three race weekends in Kerpen, Wackersdorf and Ampfing.
