Over 220 drivers to start at Pro Kart Raceland. Third race weekend of the German Kart Championship. The 2024 season reaches the halfway point.
The third event of this season’s German Kart Event takes place this weekend in Wackersdorf. A record field of more than 220 competitors is expected at Pro Kart Raceland. The focus will be on the battles for race wins and championship points, before the 2024 season reaches the halfway point on Sunday evening.
The third round of the German Kart Championship promises to be an exciting one. 223 drivers line up in the Upper Palatinate region of Germany – a record in the top German karting series. With its 1.197-metre racetrack, Pro Kart Raceland is the perfect stage. Last year, the same venue hosted the Kart World Championship. The race weekend lasts three days. After the free practice sessions on Friday, Saturday consists of qualifying sessions and a total of 14 heats, which will determine the grid positions for the Super Heats and Finals on Sunday. The whole race weekend will again be streamed live at adac.de/motorsport. The stream begins at 12:30 on Saturday and the earlier time of 09:30 on Sunday.
After the first two race weekends, the fields are closely bunched together. The two international classes, DKM (KZ2) and DJKM (OK-Junior), have both seen the finals won by different drivers. Leading the top class, the DKM, is Dutchman Stan Pex (SP Motorsport). The reigning champion won at the season-opener in Mülsen. His closest rival, David Liwinski (Dörr Motorsport) from Poland, was successful in Ampfing. It is a similar story with the youngsters. Amin Kara Osman (SIM-ON) made the step up to this class at the start of the season and arrived in Wackersdorf at the top of the table thanks to victory in Mülsen. Behind him in second place is reigning champion Luke Kornder (SIM-ON), ahead of Moritz Groneck (CRG Holland), who claimed his first DJKM victory in Ampfing.
A full house awaits in the German Mini Kart Championship (DMKM). With 35 young drivers, every single place in the field is occupied. So far, Milan Rossi (Lanari Racing Team) has dominated proceedings in the finals, winning both races. There is a similar picture in the DMSB Shift Kart Cup (DSKC), in which Maximilian Schleimer (Maranello SRP Factory Team) travels to Wackersdorf on the back of two victories.
With 36 juniors and 54 seniors, the fields in the IAME Series Germany are completely full. Multiple guest starters line up in Wackersdorf, including Kevin Lantinga. The Dutchman won the X30 Senior final in Mülsen. The top three in the championship – Jason Bralic (SIM-ON), Ampfing winner Elia Weiss (SIM-ON) and Daniel Guinchard (SFR Motorsport) – are separated by just eight points coming into the Wackersdorf weekend. The battle in the X30 Junior competition is also a close one. Lars Ramaer (SIM-ON) won both events but led Marius Bonconseil (Ebert Motorsport) by a mere three points.
