DKM already looking ahead to 2023

Already in the middle of the year, the organizers of the German Kart Championship are focusing on the 2023 season. After the anniversary year "60 years of DKM", the participants can look forward to a full program in the future as well. The calendar again includes five races - planned in Germany, Italy and Belgium.

"We are still fully into the 2022 season, but we want to give our drivers and teams an early plan for next year. In recent weeks, there has been a lot of speculation about the future of the DKM, so it is great that we are continuing in a similar constellation," says DKM coordinator Stefan Wagner, looking ahead to the coming year.

After the CIK-FIA announced the calendar for 2023, the DKM organization also started planning for the coming year. The final calendar is still being agreed, but five races are again planned, spread over tracks in Germany, Belgium and Italy. "We are in contact with the circuits and organizers. Our goal is to announce the final dates in the coming weeks," Wagner continues.

In 2023, the known predicates DKM, DJKM, DSKM and DSKC will also be announced. Depending on the event and location, guest classes may also be added. DKM also relies on proven partners and is pushing for a continuation of the long-standing cooperation with tyre partner Vega.

Sustainability takes high priority
Sustainability is important in the future direction of karting. For example, the use of a synthetic fuel is currently being examined. "We are following the path of the CIK-FIA. It is important for our sport to look into the future. We also must rethink and improve in every respect," explains Stefan Wagner.

Title fights in 2022 season still open
Two race weekends are still to come in this year's season in Mülsen and Wackersdorf. The title fight is open in all four predicates and an exciting final is expected. A special focus is on the team classification: The best team this season will receive prize money of € 15,000, and a total of € 50,000 will be distributed among the best ten teams. In addition, there is the rookie classification in the DJKM and DKM.
